Kyndal, Dave, Bonnie, and Jeremy
Dave and Bonnie
Dave and Bonnie Jones are part of a church planting team in Tanzania called Team Tanzania. Believing that teamwork is both biblical and practical,
the Joneses have teamed up with other missionary families to do evangelization and church planting in Tanzania. What began as a team of two
families, the Joneses and Kirklands, has now grown to a team of seven American families, a Kenyan family, a family from the Philippine islands,
and a young Tanzanian family supported by the churches in Tanzania.
The Jones and Kirkland team began their ministry in Dodoma, right in the heart of the country. The church in Dodoma is now functioning on its own,
and has started numerous village churches. They recently began supporting their first missionary sent from the church.
The Joneses and their church planting team are now located in Dar es Salaam, the capital
city of Tanzania. The Kanisa la Kibatisti la Biblia is an exciting, growing church plant among the masses of this great city.
The multifaceted ministry of this team includes a Bible school with 100 students, youth ministries, famine assistance programs, medical ministry,
and much more.
Other members of the team are currently planting churches in Arusha and Moshi.
Pray for Dave and Bonnie and family. Pray also for their team as they turn their focus from church planting to the facilitating of national men
and women to plant multiple churches in Tanzania.
Family
Dave and Bonnie have two children, Jeremy and Kyndal.
Jeremy is attending Liberty University in Virginia. During the summer he is a whitewater rafting guide with Noahs Ark Rafting Company in Buena
Vista, Colorado. Jeremy plays soccer and rugby, enjoys every other sport from squash to scuba diving, and is fluent in Swahili.
Kyndal attends Rift Valley Academy in Kijabe, Kenya. She lives there at the school and
comes home to Tanzania every 6-7 weeks. She loves school, plays trumpet, guitar, and piano, is on the school soccer and basketball teams, and
enjoys horseback riding.
The Joneses enjoy wildlife safaris and heading to the beach for some fun and sun. "Being a missionary is great", Dave often says, "and I wouldn't
trade my job with anyone in the world".
Opportunity Knocks
The Team in Tanzania is focused on the future. After years of foundational work, evangelization, and church planting, the need of the hour is NOT
more American missionaries, but Tanzanian men and women to answer the call. The missionaries of Team Tanzania now turn their attention to
teaching, training, assisting, and mentoring the great team of national workers God has blessed them with. The focus is not on American
missionaries starting new churches, but assisting the national Church to multiply and reach into every people group in the country.
If you would like to learn more about facilitating, and how you might become a part, please contact Dave Jones.
God may have a role for you to play.
